Take the crank cover off, remove the nut on the variator (the big round fucker at the front of the drive belt). To do this, wedge a large screwdriver between the teeth & the tranny case to prevent the assembly turning. Tanke off the cog, and the outer cone. Between the drive belt and the shaft it runs on should be one or two washers. pull them off the shaft. Reverse the above steps (leaving the washers in the bin)
Take the exhaust off (removing the bolts on the crank case first), and look for an appendix on the downpipe. Cut it off and welf the hole shut, or just crimp the pipe totally flat.
They're the two common restrictions that most old peds use. Some are restricted by the cdi and carb too. what ped you got?

lol same as my old bike! when you take the 'zorst off, there'll be a little pipe just before the can with a rubber hose on it. Don't forget to re-attach it afterwards, it feeds exhaust gases back into the carb to reduce emissions. The mc3 has the transmission restriction, and the 'zorst restriction, and thats it.
Good luck

Just to confirm; what Jack_Cheese is suggesting is indeed illegal if you are 16, will void any warranty, will cost you big time if you crash, and could end up having your licence revoked.

It is illegal, but it is a lot safer. the only time i binned my NRG was when i used a side-road instead of a dual carriageway in winter. I didn't like the dual carriageway, as cars overtaking me at 50mph isnt great. The dual carriageway was gritted, The road i was using wasnt.
Derestrict you're bike, but don't be a fuckwit. If you try and do stupid maneouvers, then you'll end up in an a&e unit somewhere, i just like to know i'm not keeping anyone up, and its that little bit safer on dual carriageways.

This is absolutely the wrong answer ,in fact yes you can ride a derestricted bike at 16 as long as it meets the following criteria
it must be pre 76 and have working pedal gear hth |
