Wonder what it is with bike forums, every now and again someone will start a thread about chavs or chav cars, insecurity maybe?

I actually think the car in the picture that fuzz posted is quite tasteful as modified cars go.

I don't like modified cars on the whole, but especially not the following modifications:

Ugly plastic bolt on bumpers and bodykits - its a hatchback and will always *be* a hatchback!

bolt on spoilers on front wheel drive cars - its ok to have a small one from the factory, but a large carbon fibre or ally spoiler with skeletal mounts and about a three foot clearance from the back of the car... no. Its front wheel drive FFS! how is a spoiler at the BACK going to help?

those stick on outline drawings of Taz or the 7up guy or whatever. Again, its a hatch, you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, especially by drawing TAZ on the side!!

clear light cluster lenses with chrome inserts underneath - no, no, no they look tacky and plastic. They aren't 'bling' they are awful.

Spinners, especially fake ones. Whats the point of adding weight to a car?

Neons. No. Just no.

I don't mind alloy wheels as long as they don't look plastic like the light unit inserts (IE 'chrome'). Brushed ally or natural ally is OK as is black. White on a white car looks shite, but then again white cars look awful anyway.

I don't mind lowering as long as it is done correctly.

I don't mind loud exhausts (Because bikers do it...) as long as the car is set up for it (unlike most 1.2 corsas with four big bore exhausts that must make the car run so lean its scary).

I don't mind performance mods that genuinely aid power (induction kits or whatever)

I just can't stant unneccesary tarting - especially when it actually makes the car look *worse*.

My current project is to modify my TZR250 so that it goes even better. This is so that I can embarrass boy racers with my raggedy-ass 1986 2t. TBH I can do this at the moment, but its fun to do it in style!

i watched a bit of it. The funny thing is I think of myself as quite sensible but ive done whizzing up and down at bassets pole with ppl lining the road. It actually felt pretty tame when I'm doing 90mph and the big bikes are doin 120mph+

maybe Im actually a nutter just not as nutty as other people

as for spending £10000 on a car stero !? I could buy an r1 with £3000

My bro n his mates are all into cars. My bro has a mk2 phjase 2 clio with carbon bonnet 'anthrashite' alloys from the clio cup, sports interiour and he thinks its quick. Its only a 1.2 My typhoon 70 was much more fun

If i eventually get a car it will be a 2.0 auto with big fat leather sofas, nice alloys and a subtle bodykit and a wkd sound system as it would be for chillin in as your bound to be stuck in traffic

Its amazing that they seem to thing a spoiler and "flash" bumpers suddenly make a wheezy 1.2 nova go faster.

I saw a nova with a rear bumper that looks like a terri nappy. Me and Mike stopped to have agood laugh.
