Aside from having a huge hangover, I saw one of my mates this morning who recently passed his A1. He's moved from a CG125 to a Suzi GS500.

He let me have a go on it. That thing is shit off a stick up against my 125. Took up to about 9,000 rpm in 2nd, sounded really nice (even with the stock pipe, could have been a bit louder Twisted Evil

). I couldn't go any faster because I was only wearing a t-shirt, didn't want to risk coming off, was riding on a small road, and i'm not insured on it.

Only thing I don't like about it is that it's a bitch to steer, I had to put my foot down to turn around, but then again, I can't seem to ride anything other than trail/off road bikes.

Would definately reccomend it to anyone who's looking to by a 33bhp bike (although I think this one may be stock).

for £1551 you could have got a 2002 tt600 which steers as light as a 125 and is a bit more fun than a 500

I'll be moving from my Rieju (50cc 2T) to my Suzuki gs500 in 4 months.

I have been out on the back of it, which was fun, cant wait until i can ride it on the road.

I have also been up and down the driveway on it, very nice feel. Was odd only having to give to 2/3k to get it moving, unlike the 50, 6/7k.

Insurance is a plus too.

there are a lot of bargains on ebay
particularly stuff with no reserve and light damage. If someone wants a quick sale, they will sell cheap. tt600's are particularly cheap and r1s can go for the same price as an r6 (£2500)

I probably shd have gone for it but i overslept and I havnt tried gsxr600, r6, cbr600, or zxr6 yet. I like the TT as it handles as well as my rs125, but its all top end and no midrange.

Im gonna try a gsxr600 next week.

if i had woken up in time, i wd have bought the tt600

i know that there is 'world of difference' between these bikes. So far I have test ridden tt600 and thundercat amongst others. The tt600 handles light like the rs125 while the thundercat is more stable and doesnt turn as quick. Obviously both are faster than the rs125, but the thundercat has much better low end and mid range at the expense of top end power.

500's tend to be slow and heavy to turn like the thundercat but not as precise
