I am hopeing to do my restricted a test soon but am unsure of what bike to get after? I want a road racer type bike but am unsure of what kinda cc to go for? If I get a 400cc will this have to be restricted or is it around the 30bhp mark already? Sorry if this sounds dunb but I am new to this- what would 30bhp= in cc roughly 250,400?

Thanks for the help.

a derstricted 125 2 stroke isnt far off 33bhp

a 400 has about 60bhp

i think a 250 sportsbike is about 40bhp but its a lot heavier than a 125 2 stroke so it will accelerate about as fast possibly with a higher top speed

It's 33BHP, but it's not about the capacity, you could get a litre bike and still restrict it but the higher capacity you go the more expensive insurance gets, as they tend to ignore the fact that you have the restrictors on. I'm doing the same as you but I'm going to be going straight to a 600.

a 400 is a good option. whilst the 33bhp option will make them slow, what you do tend to get is superb confidence inspiring handling and good brakes.

however when you come to derestrict you will only gain another 30 bhp, a 600 will gain you 60-70 bhp...
