Do many of you bikers get pulled by old bill?

i dont mean speeding or anything just pulled you for no reason.

Also when people go to these bikers events where you all meet up do old bill turn up and start checking everyone for insurance? Wink Very Happy.

thanks, kev

Only ever been pulled once on a bike (and I was doing 94mph in a 60). I think that's more luck than the average though.

Been pulled twice for a 9x3 plate. This isn't valid tho as my bike isn't 600cc+ only 400. Rolling Eyes

Never been pulled on my bike, although did have a copper ask if he could have a sit once when I was in the petrol station with my busa.

I've noticed a couple of times at Box hill a couple of bored coppers walking around looking at race cans, tyre treads etc, but they've never done anyone for it as far as I know.

I hope to sweet baby jesus you're not asking our opinion about whether your likely to get pulled if your riding uninsured. Don't F*cking do it because it just inflates our already crap premiums when you inevitably mess-up. End of. Yes, they routinely come out to meets to check everything is legal.

If however your just curious, then no it's not that common. Not unheard of, but not common Thumbs Up

I have never been pulled (touch wood) but then I've only been on the road for about 20 odd months.

I used to ride an old DT 125 with a really loud pipe on it and I allways thought I'd get pulled for that but I guess I've just been really lucky.

Although saying that, my current bike isn't loud at all really and I guess I look relativley sensible.

l,ve been riding for 3 years now and have been pulled 4 times, 2 for speeding (got off with a bollocking both times) and 2 which were random checks.

One so called random check l was told that l was stopped beacuse a lot of bikes the same model of mine have been stolen lately, which was complete bollocks becasue l was on my Kawasaki KR-1S which is a very rare bike.

There you go, make a complaint about harrassment.

Police should not target bikers in my opinion.
They should target chavs who are driving about with no insurance and licences.
But no they stop bikers who decided to ride with a race can etc.

had insurance for the past 2 years and damn do i hate it lol. paying 1400 pound for the first year and well for 11 months lost my 12 months no claims as i went to a diffrent insurance company for cheaper insurance. now paying around the 1100 pound mark. Hopeing getting my zx7r and restricting it and getting all my bike test's sorted will pay alot less insurance than my car Very Happy.

Every so often I get stopped for routine checks in London. We're heading for the office Christmas party season again, so expect checks Thu/Fri nights and Fri/Sat mornings.

I've been breathalysed (except that I 'failed to produce a specimen', almost passed out when I was trying to breathe), had licence, insurance and MOT checked. Didn't have insurance details with me, but they made a phonecall and confirmed I was indeed insured. So, go and get insurance...

At the moment, in London, they seem to have the Vehicle Inspectorate quite active on the Embankment. They check the papers, as well as condition of the bikes/cars. Not sure what exactly they do, so whether they'd find out if a bike was derestricted or modified in any way. Vespa had her bike checked, but they only checked her lights, breaks and tyres, as it's a new-ish bike.

Been pulled twice, and once was today, 92mph in a NSL 60, was appologetic and he let me off. Hands up, my fault, was breaking the law. Rolling Eyes Makes me think though.
