Winter Bike Prices?

Hello all. I have always heard people on this forum and other places saying that it's cheaper to buy a bike in the winter. Are you talking about private sales or from dealers or both? I never see any change of price in any of the bike shops i go to. So how does this work? Do ya just go in and haggle more because it's winter and you know they aren't selling as many bikes? Cheers.

You might see a couple of hundred off a bike at the dealers, they need the turnover to keep things going. Best bet is a private sale although I do agree that you don't see that much of a diference between summer and winter prices. It will be cheaper but not by a great deal.

Well thats the thing, i don't see any difference at all. Example. In just over a month, i will be buying an Aprilia Pegaso Strada 650. The price is £4,999. It was that price when it came out in March and it's still that price.

Have you haggled with the dealer ?
He's not going to give you money for nothing. Go down and see what he says, chances are he'll knock off a couple of hundred without a blink. It's then up to you to get another couple off or atleast get extras thrown in to sweeten the deal.

I think prices do come down lots if you're patient!! As people just can't shift bikes very well so they get restless, desperate and start advertising every where and dropping the price repeatedly so they can sell their bike to get more xmas pressents for their little spoilt kids

Wouldn't take advantage of that situation though of course

Also on the Auotrader site there's new bikes going for £4400 upwards and a 55 reg with 200 miles for £4000.

Well the shop i usually go to is owned by Jeremy McWilliams. I get on with him pretty well so he might be willing to knock a few hundred off or throw in a few extras.
