hey all!

just got my first geared bike after running a trekker 50 ped for the last year or so but i couldnt find a decent 4t 125 commuter i liked so as luck would have it i was have a nosey round on ebay and i came across a "kangda zs125-11" which was immaculate and pretty cheap for its age (2001-y) so i bought it got it home and only been out on it twice now but i was wondering if anyone else has owned one of these bikes and what are their experiences with them? the only things i dont like are 1. it seems to have a sticky gearbox sometimes and 2. TERRIBLE traction![/img]

one problem you may have is that the chinese bikes are hard to get serviced, only the local hyosung dealer in my area is in leeds (around 40miles away) so i have to take it up there for jany aftermarket parts or service.

As for the bikes, most are semi decent quality which is fine for a 1st bike, iv gone korean and my two mates are jap and chinese bikers,

my next bike will be made by one of the major manufacturers, but dont worry about the bike, if it is what u want then it will be the best bike ever. As for the traction, it may because those bike run on much thinner wheels that even a scooter, plus if your chuckin g it round like a scooter it will feel wierd,

it will come with time.

yeah they are supposedly a bit of a hotch-potch suzuki frame copy and honda cg engine copy all in one rattly package lol any ideas on tires i can use on it (e.g wider ones?) and also can they be de-resticted at all cos it runs out of steam quite quickly!

erm, depends how they are built, i mean my mates Honda CG used to run out of steam around 40, but pick up again at 50 until topping around 60.

mine run out of steam at 50 and 'slugs' up to 75. But then mines a twin.

Basically, if you want something good for work, college and the such then they are brilliant, if you wanna show off at bike meets then save up the money!

https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/cimg0001_190.jpg

but mines blue

my mates bike is a biamo renegade

https://uk.geocities.com/rudeydudey05/baimo_20renegade_20125.jpg

people have stopped him and asked him if its a baby harley or a mini honda shadow.

he then has to say, naa, its a chinese piece of shit. Only problems he had were that the bikes side stand was missing, stole one off one on a test ride from J&S!

the 2 front spot lights are missing, not much he can do, and that the electric start doesnt work, but it has a kickstart so hes not complaining to much.

I believe you will find that the comet 125 looks almost exactly like a gs500, infact the comet 650 uses the suzuki motor from the bandit (albeit in 79HP form) and looks also similar to the suzuki.

Didn't know the bandit was a V-Twin?

And I think you mean the SV650 not the bandit.

Also technically the Hyosung engine is only based on the Suzuki unit, Suzuki gave hyosung the blue prints for the 650 engine and they copied it and tuned it more.
Suzuki inturn renewed their deal with Hyosung so that they build all of Suzuki's <250cc road bikes.

yeah, sorry i meant sv650, it's the older, carbed model that they use but as you said it produces more power than the carbed sv did.
The blue one is restricted to 33HP, I'm quite realistically considering one for my first big bike.

buy a set of decent tyres-conti Blitz are good for small bikes.

The gearbox will get better with wear.

Mate bought one for £900 on the road, including delivery. Not bad for a brand new bike.

Heres me on it.

Only bad thing about them is that they are very very very easy to steal.

Hey do you notice the similarity between my bike and your bike, its a 4 stroke so it will difficult to derestrict, but i dont think you can, it should top out at about 78mph on the clock in the right conditions.

I think the bikes are preety similar so it should be fine, mine has 33000 miles on it and it still runs sweet as a nut.

Hope you enjoy it

Just keep it fed with regular oil changes and it won't complain. It will shed parts and break electrical gubbins every few hundred miles, but otherwise it should be fairly solid. The finish will go off pretty quickly, but mine still polishes up fairly well. Slow but comfy. Learn to service and fix it yourself. It is too expensive any other way.
