they're good for nipping around town, get to 50 mph easily but struggle a bit more to get to 60, not too good for out of town riding though Smile

I believe the bike isn't restricted and the best route is to do your test and get a bigger bike if your after more performance. Otherwise it's a great first bike (for me anyway)

downsides:-Having people carriers tail gating me going up the Mountain road and then having the guts to point towards the hedge Mad

I'l love one as a lil runaround, and it's a better version of the CG and a lil bit more powerful from what i know.
not restricted and could prob be tuned, but why bother?
I'd have one, but gear it down to 45-50 and have it as a quick town and maybe wheelie trainer bike

Well actully the cg125 motor is very reliable and is great at what its intended to do, basically get you from A to B. I'm betting a fair number of CG's would more than easily outlast your bike Smile

I think that the City Fly has the same motor as the KLR?!?!

Why would the Honda City Fly have the Kawasaki KLR engine?

Yeah although according to honda the cg has a dry weight of 110kg and the clr 118kg so the extra weight makes them about the same speed??

Yeah, but I know which one i'd prefer!

The new Innove scooter thingy can hit 70mph according to MCN
and that's only a 125 single.
it's a baaaad day for 4-stroke 125 bikes everywhere!

wouldnt say no to a cityfly, beats a scoot for gettin to work and gettin around town, however, its still well overpriced, and isnt worth the extra over the CG, so given a choice id buy the CG and save the extra cash

good bikes though, and yes the city fly has overhead cams, so thats gotta be the XLR lump not the CG, but as was said: performance is the same

having said that, with the mention of scoots, the italjet 125 that has 2 cylinders is sposed to be good for 80mph so id have one of those Smile

I think thats the Italjet Formula. It's a 2-stroke so 80 seems about right even for a single

hi,

the city fly has the same engine as the xlr trialie, 11.3 hp and flat out at 60 mph due to the upright riding position, given the choice i would go for an xlr , which i did to commute to work for three years in all weathers, with no hassle or breakdowns whatsoever, i would also say that the xlr would have a better resale value , mine dropped only 500 quid from purchase as an ex demo with 120 miles on the clock to trade in 3 yrs later with 20k on the speedo. the clr was/is based on the 650 vigor which didnt sell at all well, the clr styling is a bit staid, having said that it should make a reliable commuter bike as long as you change the oil as per handbook,
every 1250 miles, (theres no actual oil tank, so it keeps mashing the same oil 'til you change it.

cheers

carl

On 125s i would want one of those new peugeot peds that has a supercharger and will beat a 250. I am not sure if they are out yet though. It also looks the dogs bollocks (but not many people here like the styling on peds, so that is just my opinion)
