Where to find a broken bike?

Hello all, new here!!

Funny question it may seem to start with.

The cold winter months are setting in, and I need project. I have a huge shed in my new house, ripe for such a thing!!

I'm interested in finding an RC51/RC52, preferably with crash damage. I know that sounds mad, but I need something to keep my mind off the utterly dismall weather.

Working through the winter on a possible trackbike for the summer should keep spirits high

So, any ideas? Just phone round breakers yards? In AutoTrader there is a section for crash damaged cars, anyone know of anything similar advertising wise for bikes?

First I'd try your local paper and/or free paper. It'll be easier to find something close to you. Then there's the local breakers. After that there are some others in this link and this one (Motorcycle Salvage Breakers) - click text for link.

Other than as said, eBay, are there any local bike meets? Could go along and ask around.

The RC51 is the American name for the SP1. I can only assume the RC52 is for the SP2. It's misleading as the prefix R is usually used for machines with 650-899cc, of course the SP1/2 is much higher. Over here, the SP1 was also known as the SC45.

you can use ebay to find something near you, just get it to sort by distance. You will need to register to do that as it goes on your postcode.

Back of autotrader, all the cat c and d bikes. Precisely where I'll be looking for any future bikes (apart from ebay obviously )
