ducati ones, keep seeing them and am getting very attracted to them especially the cheaper ones, but will it just break down all the time?

if its been looked after it'll be alright i believe. use the search function there was a thread very similar to your question not long ago.

monsters....its coming up to halloween after all.....

Just covered 2k on mine now, not a single problem. But it has only done 15k in total. I'll be happy when it hits 20k with no problems as my zzr250 died at 19k ish.

Hi,

A friend has got one it been ok but is low milage and pampered. Ducati servicing is extremely expensive but there is a ducati specialist in clay cross for complicated servicing.

Kickstarts Dad has one but it also low milage and pampered. so not much to go on really.
We also have a full workshop manual if you need a look.

Hope you find a nice one.

The air-cooled Monster v-twin is a great, well proven and actually quite a simple engine. If you're aiming for a later model then the electrics should be fine too.

On a monster engine personally I wouldn't be too fussy about Duke service history. It should mean you could save a few hundred quid on purchase price, just get it looked at by a dealer after getting it, and get the belts changed asap.

Great involving bikes.

Mechanically good, finish is OK but electrics can be troublesome.

The 600/620 is rather gutless, it felt very wheezy after my GSXR and was definitely sluggish trying to follow a mates bandit 400, but the 750/800 are punchy, and the 900 and 1000 pull very well.

Riding position is a little odd.

I didn't pay anything for my monster?? Oh you mean the ducati, £1500.

Been thinking the same. I was originally planning on a GSXR but there are just so many of them on the road that it would be nice to have something different but still affordable.

I'm 5'6 and find it fine position wise. I'm much more suited with the wide bars instead of clipons.

No.

For many months of the year it will simply not run at all.

600 Monster. lets see now as long as it has less than 15000 miles on it the front cylinder won't have had a chance to wear itself out needing a rebore. As long as the service personnel have remembered to torque up the rotor at EVERY service it's unlikely to fall off and wreck the engine and as long as it has an Electrex Reg/Rec it should be able to charge it's own battery.

Oops almost forgot they prefer 4 star leaded petrol, what you say it's no longer available Shocked

I'm biased. I used to service them.
