I'm scared!

my bike is to be left like this for a few days while the fork seals get done, and am very worried it going over! especially as it seems there is a severe weather warning set for tommorow, and its the first time i have left it like this!

any one got any advice how to firm it up?

Hi,

Can tell from the picture is the jack fully down ? if not you need to do something as some will slowly go down.

Have you got some jacks you can put owner the engine frame ?

Personally, i'd slide some wood at a diagonal angle into it at each side, and tie it to the fence. Maybe put a quilt or something round it?

what about tieing some heavy duty rope around the front and rear of the frame and around the tops of the two fence posts (only if they are strong posts going into a concete base) with a cusion between the bike and the fence just incause it does come off the stands the fence could act as a back up.

Just leave it as it is.

It's perfectly safe and it won't get blown over.

If it does, then the last thing to worry about will be your bike, since you'll be far too concerned about replacing the roof of your house

Blimey, just what do people think it takes to blow over a bike ? From the sound of it, anything more than 'flying a kite' weather and it'll be on its' side

What you've got is one bloody great chunk of very heavy solid metal, with an extremely low wind resistance. It simply is not going to be blown over in the wind

If you thought for one moment that it would, then you'd never even put it on the centre or side stand under normal conditions

Oh dear, thats going down!!!

Looks more unstable than mines at the minute. I'm having trouble with wind and rain up my way. Wheel it into the house. I'm sure the misses won't bother with it sitting in the kitchen? No??

just been out to give it the wobble test, and feels pretty firm, also as if its on its side stand under the cover, see how it is in the morning

if you are going to leave it like that l would,nt put a cover over it just in case it acts like a sail.

l reckon 80/20 that it will stay up, its by a fence so theres little chance of a wind pressure rocking it over. but l would take every percation nessary.
