My new flat mates gf is a mechanic, rally navigator and a very good driver. Knows what shes talking about etc so the bs detectors werent up and ready.

However today, she was adamant her 4 stroke sachs xtc 02 i believe went 90 mph.

Is that believable? Shes 9+ stone so its not that shes freakishly light, and it was on a flat road alledgedly, without having it pinned for miles (believe it was on a lane racing a mate alledgedly)

Anyone owned one? What do you think

Possible? 90mph? 4t 125?

As an indicated speed, it's not unfeasible for a 125, considering RS125s can hit 120 indicated if they try.

cos most top out at about 80, though i have seen some guys in indonesia get their cbr125's to do 190kmh Shocked

can i point out again....

THE FOUR STROKE SACHS

IE like 12 bhp

RS's make about 30

Cos they are 2 stroke

Compare to 4t

and 190 kmh is 120ish mph... no way in hell on a cbr 125. At all. Ever. Different engine in maybe, but bear in mind a cbr 400 would struggle to that.

Hi

Standard I have heard of them hitting 85 indicated (which is probably about 80 in reality). They make around 15hp standard.

Weight has next to no effect on top speed. Being small will have some effect though.

Depends what has been done to derestrict it. Apparently there is a 150 (ish) kit available for it. Think the engine is from a 150cc Suzuki anyway, just slieved down to 125 for the Sachs.

Also, is it a 4 stroke one, or could it be an older 2 stroke one?

My mate used to have one, on rideouts he'd only ever get 80mph max out of it (indicated).

The gilera runner 125 4t can reach 80 ive heard but there shit slow. So probly with a few mods a 4t might do it?

Whats it matter?. She's a girl so you should just smile and nod and appreciate that she tried to cope with the complexity of riding a bike and attempting to read the speedo at the same time without a bloke to show her how to do it properly. Laughing

ive ridden with one and rode one,when riding with one i got an indicated 75mph on my clocks

when riding the same bike its clocks said about 78mph.

Biker_Dene on here has a 125 Sachs 4 stroke.........

We were on a little ride and he had a carrot on a length of stick pushed out infront to try and coax it into moving. (as per Blackpool donkey).

Dene hates his Sachs with a passion and TBH it sounds poorly but its only 8 months old.
If that bike can hit 90mph i shall bare my ass in Debenhams window.!

You are sure of course that she was so adamant that it actually went 90 rather than just indicating it? She might just not have specified it very clearly. My bike's had 120 mph on the speedo before now... Smile
