with me taking my test soon and looking at the suzuki marauder 800, (yes i want a cruiser) i also want to run a cheap 125 to work and back.

strange thing is my sister is now wanting to get into biking and likes cruisers, so iv seen these, on the road for £1100 off ebay and would want to have my sister on a CBT as a named rider so she can use it for work.

I know they are a chinese copy company and make the little cruisers which are quite nice looking, can be deceptive.

Any way, i want to know does anyone have experience with them and also if i have a full motorcycle licence can my sister be put on at 17 with a CBT to ride the same bike?

oh, and yes she does want the yellow one!

i think theres about 4 or 5 companies using the same plans, but then changing the colour. Baimo only do black, silver and red and theres none really below 1200, then i would have to UK register it and the such.

so this aint bad.

its just that Motorcycle Direct ouldnt quote me over the net! lol

Only other thing i can do is insure my own bike so i can claim off my insurance on any bike i was riding (you can do it with car, should be same) and then let my little sister insure it as her bike.

shes 17 in april, im looking to buy it as mine soon and then sell it her for a price she doesnt have to pay until she has the money 2. Im a good brother me!

Jinlun or to be known with other trade names are basically the same or one company.
The bikes come with the same frame from 125 / 150 / 250cc.
The engine is a honda and reliable if run in correctly.
They look stylish and are as big and heavy as a 4oocc.
The fall down is it is cheaper material and plastic. They will rust if not looked after.
You get what you pay for.
I have had a black 125-11 for 4 months , looks great, eye catcher.
Top speed is around 60.You wouldn't want a cruiser to much faster due to the riding position you couldn't hold on.
They tend to be sluggish uphill due to weight, good fuel economy 2.4ltr to 1ookm.You have to periodically check all bolts and nuts etc.. Average price is around 1060 including delivery and reg / tax.
Overall good value for money. There are a few reputable companis on ebay and sales service and parts are second to none. Try Jinlun review and youll change your mind as its all positive.
These bikes are learner legal with cbt at 17 but personally I think its a lot of bike to handle at that age , especially if female.
Hope this helps

Very Happy I recon these bikes are perfect for new riders they are bigger than most 125s but have good road habits , good brakes ,are cheep as chips to buy new.

There a bit slow pulling off if you are a bit lardy like me and struggle up big hills but for some one who is say 12 stone or less this wont be a problem

Handling at 60 mph on a nice twisty a road is easy and the bike feels sure footed and safe I think the big tires and long wheel base help.

the only thing i found that takes some getting used to is riding it at slow speed as there a long wheel base you are not going to do a U turn in the same space as a normal 125 like a Honda CG 125 or such if you haven’t rode anything else and this is your first bike then you wont know any different

If you break it or drop it parts are easy to find and really cheep break pads for the front are like £4

I think the junlin jl 125-11 is properly the easiest to find spares for out of all the Chinese bikes out there they all seem to be made in the same area of china and lots different bikes share the same parts

as for rusting and falling apart there’s a lot of cheaply done chrome on the bike looks cool as long as you keep it clean and dry after riding in the wet if in a few years time it does look tatty you can buy it all new again for £100 or less.
I have had the odd nut and bolt that needed tightening but I have had that with loads jap bikes as well

There is not any dedicated forum for Jinlun bike so I made one drop by and say hello if you are in to these bikes https://www.www.jinlun-owners.co.uk/

heres a temp link if the top ones not working yet https://82.110.105.24/jinlun-owners.co.uk/forum/index.php

babyyam, I know it is in fashion these days to pretend that women are exactly the same as or superior to men in every regard, (a feat that seems to have been achieved by decades of nagging 'till the male population let out a collective 'yes, dear')

However, don't let yourself fall into delusion - females are not as physically strong as males, who have more muscle mass especially in the upper body. This is a fact.

Biking is a male dominated hobby, and this is in my opinion in no minor way due to the strength disadvantage most females will encounter when handling a bike. Also few will get the same buzz out of riding a bike fast, as most males will do. (some will but not most I imagine)

It's a strength / testosterone thing, and no amount of 'right on' liberal scribblings will change biological differences between the genders.

Case in point is that a lot of the females in biking seem to be have been brought into the hobby by a bike-owning partner or male relative, rather than taking it up under their own steam.

Absolutely true, won't dispute it at all. In fact I've said on here several times that it's the main reason why I personally took an A2 test rather than DAS even though I'm old. However, handling a bike does NOT depend solely on strength. Picking one up might but handling? Nah, that's down to technique, experience and, perhaps crucially, confidence.

To suggest that a girl you know nothing about will not be able to handle a 125 cruiser because of it's weight is ludicrous. You wanna tell that to my mate Minxy who rides Gixxers in all sizes and recently had an XJR1300 for some time? You wanna tell it to my mate Fren who rides a Harley Nighttrain? Both of them are under 8 stone! You wanna tell it to Bendy who handles her CBR600 as well if not better than most blokes I know?

You're narrow minded, blinkered and very short-sighted if this is the case.

Nah, it's because for years and years women have been conditioned to believe that it's not the thing to do and have been told (mostly by men) that they shouldn't or couldn't enjoy it!

Can you provide your source data for this statement? I would be interested to see it..........

Don't want to get into a male vs female debate particularly but you are truly talking out of your arse here matey!
