Just been caught speeding for the first time ever by South Yorks. Traffic police. Crying or Very sad

Apparently they timed be over a 1/4 mile at an average speed of 92.9mph but said that at times I had been over the tonne. I said "I doubt that as I never go into instant ban territory".
Suppose I'll have to settle for my first 3 points and fine, and have to go hand my licence in at the local plod station.
The 2 police guys were actually okay about it, and I said that I had noticed a car in my mirrors with its lights on but failed to notice it was a police car. They told me to check my mirrors a bit better, but had noticed that I pulled over as soon as they had put the flashing blues on.

Damn it though, no more clean licence Evil or Very Mad

Unlucky mate......but kinda your own fault eh?!

I found that 3 points just meant that on renewal my insurance was the same price as the privious year.

normally between £30-£60 on car policies. not sure sure on bikes.
unlucky mate, at least the cops were okay about it.

Nah, Keith. It was on the M18 towards Sheffield, (working at our Meadowhall shop today). Thankfully police still dont frequent that 'favourite' stretch of road. Wink

Yep, it was my own fault. I hold my hands up, I was speeding and got done for it. When asked what I thought I had been pulled for by the copper I did have a thought enter my head.... "Is something hanging off my bike officer?" but just went for "speeding?"

LC20 for me was driving with no l plates
it went from £144 TPO first year riding to £460TPO with the same company! managed to get it to £261!

I got 3 points and £60 fine for doing 40 in a 30. If I knew I could do 90mph on the motorway for the same punishment, I'd have bided my time til then! Laughing

Motorways are always easy places to get caught, don't forget to check those bridges for white vans as well!

3 points dont really affect your insurance at all. for me its almost negligible. get to 6 though.....

i remember what a clean license used to be until a pizza bike tempted me to 41 in a 30.... Embarassed
