when are you supposed to use lifesavers + observations over both shoulders and when is it only over one? is it always over the same shoulder as the direction your turning? I know traffic lights are a lifesaver over both shoulders,

what about these:

left turn
right turn
roundabouts

it's all a bit confusing, is their a failsafe way to do it to avoid failing?

left turn, left shoulder.
right turn, right shoulder.
Roundabout-assuming single lane, left shoulder as you pull on to r/bout, left again before exiting and prob right as you start to leave to make sure some numpty isn't trying to carve up your outside.(more likely on dual lane r/bout).

At least that's what I'd do for right or wrong Smile

says here "When moving away, say from traffic lights; check both sides of the bike, particularly for other two-wheelers."

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=27360&highlight=test)

only thing it doesnt say on the thread is when to do both sides and when to do one. Not sure if the traffic lights one is an observation not a lifesaver.

What it doesn't tell you is that when you filter to the front and piss off before anyone else, two-wheelers are the only thing you have to look out for, and they're normally pretty difficult to spot. Smile

Normally lifesavers in the direction you're about to move in is sufficient, but looking over your shoulder in other situations can be very useful.

Just don't spend too much time looking over your shoulder or you'll have to get on the brakes sharpish when the concrete truck in front of you decides to slow down quickly. Embarassed

in traffic before pulling off straight or anytime stopped going straight is it check both mirrors then lifesaver over any shoulder (i've been using right but don't think it matters if you use your left?) and pull off?
