Hallo Very Happy

Here are some pics of my first set of two wheels, it may just be a little 50cc scooter but i'm on my way to from 50 to 500 via some in between once i get my full bike licence.

It's a 2002 aprilia habana retro which i've had for 4 weeks, it's currently in the garage being checked over due to some weird ticking noise(see workshop posts). It's been in the garage for 3 days and i'm hoping this isn't an obituary! Crying or Very sad

One of the better looking scooters in my opinion.

Sort of vespa-ish without the horrible vespa badge. Very Happy

That's the aprilia Habana/Mojito Custom, my scooter is the Retro version with the normal handlebars. I wanted the custom model at first but i thought it would be harder to move in and around the traffic in london needing a wider clearance, plus I see tons of the Custom model, i've only seen a few of the Retro versions.

Though they are not as popular as the Vespa which i steered well clear of, didn't want to go Baa like the rest of them!

Laughing meeehhhh....

Ahem, nothing wrong with Vespas! Especially, the GTs! They rock!

I've seen a few of those cigars on the road, mostly with the wide handlebars and the riders really do seem to be struggling with Central London filtering. It also doesn't look like the most relaxed riding position.

Weird ticking noise? Probably just a time bomb put there by somebody who hates 50cc bikes... Nothing to worry about, it'll go off eventually! Wink Which garage are you using btw?

It's not a islamic extremist garage Shocked , it's the one on shepards bush road, used to be an aprilia garage now does yamaha.

If you have seen the workshop post about the problem, i've now found out it was a loose gearing cog which was making the noise, it had worked a bit loose with the vibrations of the scooter, i reckon it's the bleeding speed bumps near upper richmond road i sometimes have to go over. Mechanic said it's a common problem with Habana's. Picking it up later today, noise free.... Thumbs Up

I'm not a vespa hater, especially the old school ones. They are a beauty to behold. It's the ET2's and 4's, that seem to be on every street and driveway in london. The new Gran Turismo is nice, but pricey for what i can afford at the moment, student debt... is there any need to say more?

It's a start like i said, i'm definitely looking to get a bike within the next year/half. I might move up to the Gilera DNA 125 next, still a scooter but bike styled, might get me used to the position of a bike. Then we will see what happens.

Paivi, are you a scooter owner?

im a fan of vespas, and im a fan of classic styled scooters! this is a retro dream!loving it

what i dont like is the modern sports styled scooters that are made out of cheap crud and ridden by every irritating teenage chav in my area! theres nothing like 6 or 7 mopeds doing lps around your house every night to really do your nut!

I changed my mind, since they're just too slow!! i live in china and i'm buying a 125 to 150cc 4 stroke geely moped, they look pretty tight with FAKE "GSX R" bodykits! they call it "XSG R" otherway around, i'll show u some pics, i went to check it out today, they get up to around 120 kmh stock.
