How do I find a fair price for a 1997 ER-5 with a fork seal that needs replacing with 61,000 miles on. Ohh, and all the paint work is quite tatty. They're asking £850 for it, but people keep telling me that's high.
What's a fair price?

Wow, that is high, I'd be looking at £500, 550 tops buddy!!!!!!!!!!

Dodsi got his 2001 MINT(utterly mint) er5 with less than £10k miles on it for £1000.

Try and tell me that your bike is worth £850!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Ta all. Will probably insult them with the offer of £500, but I thought £850 was a bit high. Anyone know someone in Kent selling a bike for under a grand and 250cc+? Wink

Dont just limit yourself too kent, search within 200 miles or so, you could get a bargain!

My ER-5 was 70 miles away in sheffield (had to ride it back) and my bandit was over 200 miles away in reading!

I live in Broadstairs in Kent, it's 70 miles just to get to the edge of Kent. This bike I looked at was in Essex, 100 miles away or so. Fed up of traveling hundreds of miles to find the bike isn't as good as they said it was.

Pish posh...

Get the seller to e-mail you loads of detailed pictures so you can tell what the bike is like before.

Also if they are happy to help and show you everything in pictures shows they have nothing to hide.

My sv was 550 miles away from me buddy. I got loads of pictures and decided it was worth going for. Turned out to be far better than I imagined.

You can always budget for a train fare.
