 |
|
Picture the scene. Its 5.30pm on a friday night. You leave work, knowing its the beginning of the weekend. Your off to go see your partner straight from work, you've got a lovely night planned, and the very thought of it has got you through the day at work.
You get leathered up, jump on the bike, roll it forward, but wait! Bikes feeling extremely heavy, to the point where I cant move it! Now either I've become extremely weak, or someones attached a lead weight to it!
Alas, I was wrong. Looked down to see my rear tyre flat as a pancake. Gutted. Called the RAC, told it'll be anything up to an hour. Great, all i need on a friday night! However, 15 mins later, they turned up! Well impressed! Was a huge nail dead centre in the middle of the tread. They did some patch job with some sort of gel, told me not to go above 50mph and it'll be good for 250 miles.
This is my second such puncture in less than a year. Gonna have to buy my 3rd tyre in the space of a year and a bit, not good!!!! |

This happened to me on my CBT, I went over a nail but the tyre went flat in a matter of seconds, all I felt was the ped dragging and fishtailing!
They stopped it and called out their van, shoved me and it in the back and back to the centre for a new bike. Only all they had was the guys spare scooter, which was quite heavily modified, good for 60mph! Talk about strange, after riding a restricted scoot all day. The funny thing was, the instructor kept telling me to go faster on the bigger roads, even though I'm not allowed to and the other guys ped was restricted!
Bad luck with the tyres mate, nails on roads is gay. |

My first puncture, my first session and my first trackday all coincided!
Less than happy. But to tyres with innertubes, £15 to fix!

You're gonna ride a 160 mph bike with a plugged tyre? Not recommended |
