Just been cleaning my new pride and joy this aft. Got all the front end cleaned up and started the back, just as i got finished with the back wheel i noticed the sproket had only one bolt in it! . Problem is now will it be okay because i have no choice but to ride it ____________________ i smile because i have no idea whats going on! |

cheers dave but im more worried about it flying off and wedging itself into me lolol, Ive nipped it up as tight as possible but i think im going to have to remove the back wheel to sort it as the bolts are on the inside of it. I can still see the bolt but its sunk into the hole for it and no nut for it! ____________________ i smile because i have no idea whats going on! |

Bear in mind that sprockets are held in with a circlip that's an absolute b*stard to remove. That and the fact that it wouldn't fly off if it came off the wheel anyway, it'd just spin on the axle. Would make a mess of the axle but not anyone's shins - not even your own. ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/nsrandy/96rs250/ My Bike!

If its exactly the same as a GS125 it should be ok as long as that nut dont come off. Theres 4 of them if I remember correctly, on my GS they had a metal plate between the pairs with bent up corners which were hammered against the bolts when they were tight, this meant the didnt move even when you wanted them to. They are bog standard metric nuts as I replaced my very rusty ones when I replaced all thesprockets on mine ____________________ I love the girls that do, I hate the girls that dont, I hate the girls who say they will and then they say they wont, but the girl I like most of all and I think youll say Im right, is the girl who says she never has but looks as though she might. - Max Bygraves |

well i thought i was pushing my luck with it and i found out the hard way i was. i was coming home on saturday morning when as i was going along the back wheel locked up on me, threw the bike into a skid and threw me off! . Managed to get it home and bought some bolts for it and all is well again . ive learned from my mistake now so im going to check regularly from now on!. ____________________ i smile because i have no idea whats going on! |

Glad you're OK.
Your tag line seems somewhat poignant at this moment in time.
If you have any more concerns in the future it would be a good idea to post them in workshop. |
