Well today i had my first off, i was coming out of a car park from work and i went over a puddle which had a white line underneath, then the back slide out to full lock and through me off.

Got a bang on the head but felt pretty much fine, look at the bike damm! broken screen and scratched fairing and where the crash bung is the faring had broke but not too bad.

Call my brother to pick up the bike because the people at work were not going to let me drive it back, get home and my elbow starts to ache, ignore it, probably just a bit sore, then it gets quite painful and i cant bend or straighten it although 10mins ago i was lifting the bike up etc and it felt fine.

Parents say lets go to the hospital to be on the safe side, get there and i have cracked my elbow!Shit 6 weeks in a cast!!

Now i am so pissed off no riding, gym for 6weeks.
Its also going to take me 2 and a half hours to get to uni when it takes 30mins on the bike. Sad

Sad Sad

Another crash thread. Confused

Not trying to be nasty at all but people need to start thinking a bit more, its winter or close enough, from now until like april roads are going to be wet/cold more than dry. This accident could've been avoided by just rolling on gently or being more aware of that bastard painted line.

Not trying to pick on you at all, just trying to make a point that people need to be a lot more smooth and plan ahead further at this time of year.

Sorry to hear about it though, have a few beers, makes everything feel better. Wink

Joe that very slightly animated avatar drives me crazy, I thought I was seeing things when I first saw it! Evil or Very Mad

Bad lucky mate, I had a similar one in a car park, but I got away with a stiff shoulder and that was it, needed some physio to sort it out though.

I agree with you to an extent, but you could say winter is too dangerous to ride a bike full stop, as the risks will always be raised in these conditions, even if you ride like a biking granny!

But yeah there has been a definite upswing in the number of crashes recently, time to take it easy maybe! The fact that the white line was hidden under a puddleis a prime example - if you'd been observing thoroughly, do you think you would have noticed that the puddle was obscuring a white line? I'm asking, as I don't know the circumstances.

Sounds like you were lucky A J. Just think it could of been worse. A few people have told me that I am learning at a good time of year, yea right I say. Well think about it they say, its more dangerous in winter what with the crap weather and road conditions so you will be extra careful than usual and so turn out to be a good careful rider. Umm I will say, only time will tell I guess.
