Slightly biased (eg, doesn't show the tax on fuel in Norway when comparing between European countries) but shows quite a bit of info on how bad the UK transport network is compared to most of Europe:-

Interesting and relevant article....John Prescott promised to spend £15billion a year on roads in 1999. As proven in this article the Government have spent nothing like it!!

Actually successive governments since the 1930's have done nothing to improve transportation and roads so it's just par for the course!!

Shame our transport minister doesnt actually use the roads isn't it. He would be more use to the country 6 feet under
