Gloves, over or under?

Who wears their gloves with the cuffs under their jacket slieves and who wears them with them over?

I wear them over my cuffs, always have done always will.

Also riding with them under your cuffs feels too restrictive to me!

Over. I can't get them under the cuffs on my leather jacket, and under my cuffs using my textile one just annoys me. They've gauntlets to help stop rain running in anyway. Over should also help stop the jacket cuff catching and sliding up when in contact with the tarmac.

Yup, gloves over cuffs of my waterproofs and leather jacket underneath.

Either way though, doesn't really do much good if you're in a torrential downpour.

I dont do either... I just put them on in a glove... SLEEVE fashion...

Oddly enough my hands or arms dont get wet either.

Seems everyone puts them over their slieves.

Same here normally

Today I tried sticking them under my slieves for one. Bit of a pain to put them on and do the cuffs up over the top but no drafts and kept my hands dry despite hammering it down with rain. Normally I manage dry hands until I go slowly through town when the water runs down my slieve into the gloves.

Food for thought that, I always wore them over, but it's probably quite a good idea for when it's pissing down.

I always wear them underneath my sleeves. I don't have much of a choice as they wrap right round my wrists and I have a thick leather jacket, although even if this weren't the case, I'd still have them under as it just "feels right".

Freezer bags and surgical gloves my Mum acquires from work (she might get through 20 pairs a day anyway) tend to do a good job of keeping the water out too.

Waterproof gloves aren't.

Under. With my summer gloves because I want the wind to go up my sleeves (nice and cool!) and with the winter ones because my jacket sleeves are adjustable and can fit snugly over the cuffs of my gloves so it's not really an issue.

Whenever I go anywhere that will involve stopping and taking gloves off I always carry a spare pair in case it rains, although I too have recently started to wear latex gloves under my regular ones. Not recently enough though - I went through 3 pairs of gloves riding down to the Pissed Indian rally in Kent last August. Then had to put up with black hands all weekend!

I wear them under as they have straps that wrap around to tighten them up then the jacket sleeves also have a velcro strap that then tightens up over the top, nice and snug.....even if it does take half and hour to get dressed each time, by then the hubby has gone round the block ten times

They're short gloves rather than gauntlet style so that's where they're supposed to go.

Over if its not absolutely soaking wet. Cause its quicker.


If raining then I take the extra 30sec to make sure they are under the cuffs.
