Decent Minimoto

Ok, I had a go on a mates minimoto the other day. It was only one of the £100 jobbies but was mucho fun Very Happy

I am tempted to get one for a bit, but if I want to upgrade what am I talking for something half decent? Don't really wanna be spending mega bucks though...

Some information on them would be good too!

If your under 6ft your best bet is probably a 4.2 polini 910, if your over 6ft you might be better suited to a 911(midi). Usually theres a few on ebay, you can get one for as low as 250 quid (used) . I had a chinese minimoto which fell to bits, i then bought a 4.2 polini off ebay which was 100% reliable. After that i bought a water cooled 910 super 12-13hp which went like shit off a shovel. Laughing

The chinese reps are getting better all the time but its a gamble. Wink

blata b1 are a good mini moto they are ment to be the best. water cooled ect but they dont come cheap you can pick them up second hand from 300 - 1000 so it depends but they have a top speed of 70 mph.... well so they say mine neva did that.

Scooby these little bikes are classed as a motor vehicle and therefore need to have all the relevant documentation to be used on the road/car park etc. Unless you're gonna use it on a track or private land, i think you can be summonsed to court if you get caught, and likely to have points/fine.

Not all police will do you the same.

However, riding around the roads quickly gets boring - so is ideally suited to a cheap chinese one that will fall apart just as quickly Smile

Proper track riding is much more fun and definitely reccomended, but requires a decent one really.

I've got a mini dirt bike from pocketbikez.com I think it is. Cost £180 inlcuding VAT and delivery, seen them for sale in garages for £399 in my area Wink

Havent taken it out just yet cos of funds. Raced a mini moto and almost broke my arm, bought this coupla days later Very Happy

My mini dirt bike is slightly bigger than a minimoto, and has raised handlebars so should be easier to hold onto.

If you are planning on riding around some tracks then I'd recommend something better than a £100 one, They seem fast to begin with but once you're up agaisnt 8-10BHP jobbies you'll feel like you're on a CG125 agaisnt rossi on his MotoGP bike.

You can get decent-ish ones for about £300 now, One of the best ones atm is a B1 rep, About 8BHP they say. You can pick them up just under £300, The Polini 911 rep is extremely well build for a copy but slightly less powerful.

A decent 4.2hp is fine on track.

The trick is to make sure it won't fall apart the second time you ride it.
