well ive got a mtx125 and its been stood for a bit, because a few months ago i was out on it and it decided to start spluttering and cutting out. its getting a spark but doesn't kick up and i havn't had time to have a good look really, which is what my plan is for this weekend.
now im not to sure where to start, has anyone got any ideas?
or is there a best way of doing things like maybe checking things first before i start to take it apart?

A valve in the carb maybe? fuel pump? Sounds like a fuelling problem to me, if there's no banging or really awfull sounds, i don't think it'll be the engine itself.

How longs it been stood?
If over a few months modern unleaded petrol goes off only after a short time, so the petrols probably stale.
Empty the tank of petrol, and clean the carb out and refill with clean new petrol, and then report back.
Also this thread should have been in The Workshop not GBC. |
