Right as you know, had an accident involving a copper, im only insured tpft on my cbr 125. Its gonna cost £200 get it on the road which includes

New indicators
New mirrors
New brake lever
New footpeg
And ajustment to the throttle that sticking

This leaves me with dented tank, scratched nose fairing and scratched zorts which would add another 600 to the above cost.

I will now be insuring the bike fully comp, you reckon its naughty that in a couple of months time i claim on my insurance get the other damage fixed?

Would end up costing you a lot more than £600 to make that claim.

Its a CBR125. 17 year olds buy them and crash them, then sell them to other 17 year olds. Its expected to look a little bit lived in by the time you sell it.

Also it would be insurance fraud, if they come to assess they may ask why the exhausts and tank are damaged but the indicators appear brand new.

Thought so, well im getting a new can off ebay for 50 quid, just need new tank and also is it easy to rub down and touch up slight graises on the fairing ?

Why dont you sell it for scraps and buy an NSR for just over £1k.

If your damage up to around that price then i would say thats your best bet!

Was the accident your fault or the other party's?

If its yours, ebay will be best bet for replacement parts, not offical Honda dealers.

If its their fault, their insurance will cover it.

Half my fault and half coppers fault according to the Cheif of Astley Bridge Police in Bolton!

My bikes rideable, just it looks normal apart from the dent and scratch. This is the remaining damage to it!

Could try Motorcycle Art on Bury Rd in Bolton, i have heard they do decent 'touch ups'.

May be using them myself soon to get my fairings fixed up and resprayed.

And you probably have a large excess on your insurance which will make claiming pointless, despite the fact that its illegal and punishable with a prison sentence

if the dent hasnt put a crease in the metal, then try and iron it out!

some chavtastic tried to steal my bike and popped a dent in the tank as i got back and shouted at him to "fuck off"!

So basically, i had a dent there, i needed to get rid of it, so what i did was bend a long piece of metal and tapped it out softly for about 15minutes, dent popped out bit by bit and you cant c it now.

Well im gonna buy a tank off fleabay or a slightly scratched one, what do people reckon of the damage to my tank, its in a picture above?? Been quoted 50 quid get the scuff and crack sorted on my fairing by Motorcycle art, forgot they're local and about 10 mins away.

you can still make a claim for your injuries even if you want your bike fixed straight away
take pics of the damge to you bike before you fix it and keep ther receipts and you can claim for that too

even if you dont want to go to a proper bike solicitor, at the very least get a no win no fee injury lawyer get you some cash

i reckon you could get a few grand

i think its shocking that the police are trying to wriggle out of their responsibilities on this one.

most motorists would be honest and go through insurance rather than trying to deny responsibility
