Your 2005 Biking Highlights/Lows

Now that the best of the year's riding weather has gone I tought I'd start this thread. What were your top and bottom three biking bits of 2005?

I'll kick this one off.

Highs

1. Donington Track Day - First time out on track. Fookin excellent

2. Killspills Rally - Again, fookin excellent. Riding through central London with 1000s of other bikers while London ground to a halt

3 Camber Sands Road - Siggi took some of the SE lot to this road by Camber Sands. Bloody good laugh

Lows

1. Getting Hit - Getting knocked off my bike by and uninsured driver

That's it for my lows

Still, only one low, (even if it is quite a biggy) damn good year's riding

I'm going to go a bit wierd and pick the same thing as my high and low:

My highside crash at Rockingham hurt me physically and financially and was the undoubted low. However, it was my first ever crash and did show me that you can have a potentially serious crash (being flung over the bars at 70mph) and still walk away with small injuries. I put it down as a life experience and as such it's a positive.

My highs would be getting my first knee down and going on my first rideout even though my bro the doc came off it was a great day.Going to streetfighter sunday too.

My lows are coming off on sunday and i cant ride for three weeks due to my arm, well two weeks and three days.

It has been a great year of biking even though i just had my first off it gives me a chance to fit the blue flame exhaust that im going to buy on mon at the show.

Silverstone Trackday
Snetterton Trackday
Lydden Trackday

May day run to Hastings (first big group rideout)
Various sunday rideout's out from Boxhill
Probably meeting fellow BCFer's at various locations

Lows

The relativly poor weather we've had this year
Getting rid of the busa

> Having to spend sooo much on petrol, there's not many days where i won't go for a ride.

crashing at 100mph+ on track and walking away
cop car today telling me to slow down instead of stopping me when doing 90!

crashing at 100mph+ and seeing my bike
shit happening to other people

Passing my test.
Getting my first proper big bike.
Numerous rideouts with mates.
Meeting new people through motorbikes.

Lows

Having to restrict my bike.
Still paying my bike off months after I got it.


I guess this year has been pretty good to me bike-wise. I'm still uber scared of getting 6 points and losing my licence as I still have about 16 months left on the probationary period .

getting my lisence
thinking about which bike to buy

Lows:
binning the RS125 (although quite minnor)
spend all my money on bikes
Blowing up my RS125 and paying £600+ bill

had loads of fun this year, hope next year is even better!lol

THE Cadwell weekend
Loads of rideouts
Mounting a kerb with my knee down and surviving rubber side down
Generally becomign a quicker/better rider than I was last year

Spending ages off the road working on a ZXR, which was even more trouble once it was 'fixed'

Other than that it was all good but just remember that for the everyday riders the year doesn't end until new years eve.

Lows,, almost chopping my finger off after a week at my new job and not being able to ride my bike for most of the summer.

Going touring round france with the gf, camping, for a week.

Lows...

only getting in 1/2 the track-day because of wheel bearings, and punctures needing fixed.

Hitting a brick, and knackering my front wheel.

Hit a tree at 20 on a Crosser.
Droping my k5 because of some old bint.

-Crashing my 125 days before I was about to sell it!
-The arrival of my new bike having a dead battery
-A bee flew into my eye and it got infected (always wear a visor!)

Hi: Taking the old beemer on a 1500 mile ride to the East Coast of South Africa and riding down to Cape Town. Came back inland through endless miles of semi desert. She never missed a beat. :D

Lo: Waiting till 06 to take her north through Botswana ( avoiding elephants on the road) , Zimbabwe ( past mad Bob) and into Zambia via the zambizi bridge. Planning for the 2nd quarter, can't wait. :up:
