There one of the few kawasaki,s with a smooth gear box.
you should be getting no clutch or gearbox noise, strip the clutch down and have a look, if for some reason you have some troble with the gearbox in the future its piss easy to remove the gearbox on the KR1 without removing the engine. ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |

If its the clutch bearing will I need to remove engine again? |
nope, you only need to drop the engine to split the crank cases which you only really need to do to remove the crank. every think else can be replaced while in the frame.
the clutch is quite simple on the KR1/KR-1S just make sure you put everything back as it was and be carfull when tighting the 6 point "spider" in the centre of the clutch beacuse it breaks quite easyly. ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |

Do you still get a noise if the bike is in gear with the clutch pulled in, my KR-1S had a noisey neutral gear which sounded like a spining wearrin sound, which went with the clutch pulled in. if it is this on yours theres no real problem.
best bet is to post your problem on the KR1 KR-1S owners site (the link can be found on the BCF link page) ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |
