On my VFR800 one of the front discs is always hotter than the other, local bike shop had a look and said nothing wrong. I think they dont want to fit new seals cos its under warranty, what are your thoughts?

The bike came with rear seat cowling and no grab rails, has any one got some the dont want, not in a mad rush to fit them cos the missus wont go on the back until they're fitted, shame eh! Wink

Is it the left disc, the linked side?

It's the disc on the near side thats always hotter and seems to be binding when you spin the wheel.

So by nearside you mean the left side as sat on the bike. This is often caused by wear in the bushes of the linked brake system, the bit the caliper bolts onto.

Take it back to he dealer and ask nicely for them to look at it. If they don't phone Honda UK and have a chat with them.

The bike is 5 years old with only 8k on the clock, should the bushes be worn so quickly.
Would it be the pistons ceasing up?

Could be either the bushs or the pistons. The bushs wear the caliper doesn't sit paralell to the disc. If the pistons are seized you get the same dragging affect. Bit hard for me to tell without the bike in front of me.

I've seen bikes with less than 10K on the clock with worn bushs.

Many thanks to sickpup for your input, it's back to the dealers firing on all four pots with guns blazing, cheers. Thumbs Up
