Hornet - Meh, has scuffs and what not over the place but acceptable. If you're a poser, then no, it wouldn't be acceptable.

Sv - Not exactly colour matched but a good looker. Not many scratches on that one. Wheels are always dirty as f*ck though.

However. Do I care? Is a more appropriate question.

Hell no.

I have other interests in life, things which take up my time, which obviously craig23 is missing if you looked at his rvf thing.

If your concerned if your bum looks big in your leathers then get your fairings fixed.

If you would rather ride you bike then sand it down(badly) and hammerite it(badly, but moreso than the sanding). The less it costs to fix the better. So bodge away!

I'd liken mine to a K/L plate car, overall quite clean and tidy but showing it's age with lots of small scratches and grubby bits.

I recently repaired a fairing (damaged when i bought the bike), not because it bothered me but because every single person who saw the bike pointed it out and asked how i fell off.

There's no point in having one in showroom condition for an everyday ride, i wouldn't want to get it dirty and would be much more paranoid about it getting scratched.

ummm...mines got a broken fly screen, bent left handle bar, bent left footrest, slightly scuffed plastics on the left side of the seat, ding in the left side of my front steel rim...all from my one and only off (touch wood) this time last year. still perfectly rideable but will get sorted before i get rid of it.

as for cleanliness...well, its pretty manky and needs a real good clean. there are some rust spots on most areas but nothing large and the chrome exhaust has got quite a big black patch from the heat.

i suppose other than that its a bobby dazzler and i love it

Mine's got her fair share of scratches and scrapes, but surely that's 'character' (yes Instigator, an inline four with character Razz ).

It bothers me so little that I have a mint RHS panel under my bed which I've never fitted in place of the scratched RHS panel that's still on the bike a year after I binned it.

With a bit of elbow grease she still comes up looking great but she's a five year old bike, she should have some stories to tell.

It's like wrinkles and scars, they hint at a life lived. Might not be as pretty as youthful perfection, but are a damn sight more interesting.

Pretty much, not totally. The odd stone chip or light blemish; seemed that only I could see them though Confused

I think the term 'mint' or 'immaculate' is used too much these days. Immaculate means free from any stain, blemish or mark; or impeccably clean. I think the only time a bike is truly mint or immaculate is when its sitting in a showroom.

she was immaculate til i got my novice hands on her (but the previous 2 owners never used her) Rolling Eyes

couple of scratches on both sides of the seat units where bungees cut in Evil or Very Mad

couple of scrapes on edge of indys and crash bungs where she went over in a car park and a low speed off.

i try to keep her reasonably clean but she's an all year round , my only transport bike Razz

but looks in good nick for the use she gets Wink

Bike was spotless when I got it.

Damaged headlight. Scuffs and cracked screen.

Bent left side of handlebar. Scuffed weights.

Dent on left side of tank where the handlebar hit it. Dent in the middle of tank just above crotch area, dunno how it happened.

Hole bashed into the side of original exhaust.

Frame slightly bent where exhaust bolts on.

Scuff on left side of the tail.

Foot pegs are a little bent up.

Indicators are smashed except for front right. Replacing these soon.

Small hole in the seat.

Left mirror is cracked.

Maybe more I've left out.

My bike is far from perfect but I still love it.

I love the colour and shape of my bike and bought a tatty oneof this colour and shape rather than another in better condition.

The idea was I would be getting it cheap cos it was scuffed but I probably paid more than i should.

All the panels on it were scuffed except the left one which didnt match and was black. This has been good because while learning I dropped it and didnt need to worry about new scratches.

After a while I found a matching left panel and bought it so i had one mint panel and the rest were scratched.

Recently the bike blew over outside a shop so now all the panels are scratched but I have bought a replacement left one on ebay which will arrive soon.

I have actually bought a compressor and paint spray thing to do a respray but Ive not done it b4 and am a bit scared of having a go.

I would lose the original decals if i did so i might try to paint them on over the silver paint under the laquer btu that wd probably look a bit shit.

At the bike meet it looks scruffy but in my eyes its got character.

What's the difference between immaculate (the proper definition) and concours?

I think immaculate is where it's in the same condition it came off the production line, and concours is where someone anal retentive has taken an immaculate bike and jizzed over it.

My bike is in pretty good nick. Can't really think of any scratches of note. It is however, completely filthy. It rarely gets a wash. Laughing

Thats alright then, im gonna get mine back to its former showroom condition soon. But thinkin of buying a Suzuki Gn for £200 just so i dont do anymore damage to my bike. I know its only a CBR125, but i love it, its my pride and joy and its the only brand new bike ive owned and probably will ever own!

The track bike is alright except the front mud guard has a chunk out of it.

The 600 is mint except the 3 little scratchs that you acctually have to look for as there tiny.

And the crosser is battered to shit.

The Thunderace is fine apart from a crack by the screen and quite a few nasty cracks were the right hand inducator punched through the fairing. Embarassed

not bad for a 1997 bike
