Hey,

I've got a 1994 Cagiva Mito and i'm trying to sell it but the fairing has seen better days. Its not cracked or split, it's just covered in scratches and it looks like the paint has peeled off!!

Now I was speaking to somebody who said it would fetch more with original colours no matter what the condition.

I'm not convinced and wanna respray the whole thing.

So keep it as it is or respray??

Any comments appreciated!!

Many thanks Cool

i'm no expert but if it were me buying it would make no difference if it were a new fairing or a resprayed one (as long as it was done well) and there were no cracks or splits etc. Smile

If you can respray it cheap and well in original colours do it, other wise dont bother.

A custom paint job can devale a bike if you want to sell it on afterwards. Have you considered second hand fairings instead, if the original colours would be too difficult to recreate?

Also, consider how much you're going to spend.

May make more sense to reduce the price - remember this isn't the best time of year to be selling a bike.

resprays hide crashes, being honest is the best,
i wouldnt care if it had scratches but suspect if it was resprayed, mainly cos id think what other damage is there that I cant see

Rember the average mito buyer may not think quite along those lines however Smile.
