This might be a bit long...

Wednesday night my girlfriend and me go to some friends house and our two girlfriends go swiming, we sit about eating pies and killing eachother on the playstation2, when they got back at 10:30 my girlfriend asked where i'd parked the bike, i go outside and point to the empty space...

So i go one way my mate goes the other, after looking allong the street i realise where its most likey to be, a poorly lit park nearby + downhill.. so i go back to be met by my girlfriend telling me he(mate) just phoned saying that hes chaseing somebody on a bike on this park..

So off i go leging it off to help out (thinking it can't be good) seeing as the dick next door had blocked in his ninja400 i had to run (not good), by the time i got there hes walking back... it turns out he stopped a 60year old man being mugged and walked him back a short way to where he lived, two little scum scalleys on pushbikes..

After that fun we carry on..

At this point i'm thinking the bikes either on fire or has a mess of wireing allover the place, we are asking anyone if they have seen anyone pushing a big black honda arround, and somebody says they just saw one in an alley, this alley is about 100metres from where we started.

The fusebox cover is off, the main ignition loom is unpluged (not cut) and the numberplate slightly bent (?) appart from that no damage! it was even on its sidestand (dropped would have totaly wasted the faring which hasn't been made for 15years or so) i'm reckoning they realised the bike was WAY to heavy to push anymore, and the wiring was so hard to get at and see because of the uber faring, especially in the dark.. what they didn't know is it had about 1miles worth of petrol too so it wouldn't have done them much good.

The police arrive a few minutes later, apprently somebody phoned the police saying they saw some guys pushing it up the road (me and my mate puting it back! Laughing ) the police helicopter was over as well... so they had a van full of police there in 2 minutes and a chopper...it turns out the twat who answered the phone before didn't bother telling them about either incident till this was phoned in about us pushing it up the street Rolling Eyes

Somebody came arorund to fingerprint the bike, there wasn't anything usefull on there (but now i have a partly silver bike, lovely)

Apparently the police have gone allong the street (thrusrday morning) knocking on doors to find out any info and are checking cctv in the area.

Being mr.pessimist i'm amazed how much is being done, but impressed Thumbs Up Ripley police Thumbs Up Police (though their phone center can't seem to write things down)

All in all a weird night it was, but its 99.99% undamaged, amazeing really. I'd have taken great plesure in finding them and hurting them but this works out nice too..

Just thought i'd share my strange wednesday night.

Good to hear it's virtually damage-free Thumbs Up Im suprised they never succeeded in getting the plate off, that's normally first action for the chavs. Has your honda got the wierd cdi thing, so you have to replace the whole ignition to start it without the right key?

Ahhh but you see it was heanor... nuf said eh?

@230kg its not exactly the joyriders choice.. i'd have been happy for it to have been crashed if it had made a scalley dead, preferably in excruciating pain...

Thinking i might leave some "supprises" arround the main loom incase they decide to have their hands in there again.

Good to hear a story with a happy ending AND the police doing their job...WELL at that! I agree Thumbs Up to the police in your area. What kind of security did you have on the bike? Any idea at all who it was? Always good to hear about someone who got their baby back. It kinda makes me worry about my bike, as its a crosser (more likely to be targeted) Its a kickstart, relatively easy to hotwire, and its very light. Thankfully ive got a massive chain round it and its kept in a nice cosy garage Thumbs Up

Hope you catch whoever tried it! Do you even have to tell your insurance about this at all? Also might be a good excuse to get a groovy plate Twisted Evil

This has happened to my Jawa on several occasions. There are two things that upset the thiefs.

1) The ignition switch. If you stick a screwdriver in it and turn it, the lights come on, but this is all, the actual on switch is activated by pushing the key in all the way to the bottom.

2) The kickstart is also the gear lever, you have to disengage a catch and swing the gear lever up to kick it over. It is also on the left hand side of the bike which many people just can't cope with for some reason.

Result was, I would find my bike a few hundred yards down the road with a flat battery (lights switched on) and every switch pushed (looking for a non-existant electric start).

RoBb, why rate my post disagree??

He called the cops and they sent a few (including the chopper) to look for the bike, when I rang them, they didn’t send fuck all.
So what’s there to disagree about?
