After damaging my £250 helmet I went to Rivetts to replace it. Expecting to be shown the expensive stuff first I was most suprised to be shown a £99 Caberg as option number one.

Tried it on and the fit was perfect and the best bit about it was the black inner visor. No need for sunglasses anymore. That will be the last time I spend over £100 on a lid again.

So top marks to Rivetts and Caberg Thumbs Up

I've been planning on buying one for a while, they look like damn good helmets. The second visor bit is a damn good addition Thumbs Up

Yeahh looks good, the visor bit looks ace. Sun glasses I find aren't very good because it restricts your corner vision, what do glasses wearing bikers do?? contacts?

But im one of those who are so used to flip lids. I would find it very hard to swap. (I do have another lid, its only been worn for about 30mins that was 6 months ago).

Caberg do a flip-front version called the justissimo, it got best in test in mcn against some very expensive competition.

I've had one of the Caberg V2 helmets for a while now and I'm very pleased with it. The inner visor isnt actually all that dark, so its still useful when it isnt totally scorchio.

The only downside is they do tend to let a drip into the inside of the visor when its raining. Right down the middle of the visor where it is really annoying. I have been working on a better top seal to try and fix it at the weekend, I'll let you know if it works next time it rains (we wont have to wait long I'm sure).

Cheers
Alfie

I always mention this when someone mentions these helmets...

Every wonder what they take out of the helmet shell to accomodate the sunglasses? Smile

I had a V2 on when i had my accident, although i managed to keep my head off the ground i came to a stop by head butting a car, the sun visor bit dug down into my nose and broke it!

Apart from that it was a good lid, very light and comfortable but also very loud when you go over a certain speed.

MCN Found the justissimo to be one of the quietest flip fronts, mind you, i bet that little knobbly bit on the side for the sun visor causes a bit of noise...
