L.E.D CBR600 FY

I have a 2000 model CBR 600 F, I want to replace the bulbs in the rear light with L.E.D's
MY problem is that I am unable to find anywhere that can positively confirm which bulbs I require. I know I need them to be 12v 21w 5w but they are the wedge/capless type and it would appear there are lots of different size L.E.D's out there. Would be most grateful if any of you could advise me on this one as understandably I don't want to spend 20 quid on the wrong bulbs. Rolling Eyes

, would expect they're the standard automotive brake light bulbs that most bikes and cars use.

Sorry G I was not v clear - I know they are capless/wedge type as I have had them out, I wish they were the standard. Smile

AFAIK (ask the place you order from)

The main difference is simply their size, and MAYBE their current draw, e.g.

5mm=20milli amps
10mm=25milli amps

If you want a safe bet then busters or m&p will no doubt sell ready made led cluster lights.. the wattage isn't really relavant because they use only a negligable ammount of power.. only thing is the voltage and fitting type.

The cluters normaly work showing 5leds on normal operation and then when you brake it shows all 15 or whatever

Thanks Mr Z they certainly arn't the 5mm assuming measurement at the Spade end. So 10mm it is.

Have already contacted both they sell cluster light units such as but they are designed for 1157 base socket which isn't the wedge type. Although they claim its designed for my model bike!

but the fittings are 11mm and 3156 socket is this what I have in my bike??????!!?????? (Never thought buying LED's could be so complicated)

LED Replacement Clear Tail Light Lens.

LED version taillight units have two 2" round circuit boards with 45 little LED's (90 total). The clusters are then wired directly into an 1157 base socket. The LED's are white in colour and emit a red light when the power is on. These units are much brighter, last over 100,000 hours, and give your bike the complete white look.

Also an aesthetics question - whats the general consensus on looks.

The cheap as chips option two clear LED bulbs and keep the red lens.

or

The more expensive, buy a clear lens and then fit red LED's.

OK I have now discovered that the bulbs that are approriate are the 3157 or the 7443 can anybody tell me what the difference is between the two please? Question

They both appear to be dual filament and the same fitting!

seems like a cheap upgrade although, if your keeping the red lense what are you going to gain?
I did look at getting a clear lense to clean up my FY's rear but it was pretty expensive (£30+)
