I thought as it is getting closer to winter, that i would start a thread where you explain your best day of motorcycling.

You know the day were everything went right and that you were so glad that you are a biker.

Mine would have to be the day that me and my bro the doctor both got our knee down for the first time, we had been out thrashing our new bikes(new to us) all day, starting from the meet in chingford were we meet some great people.

I remember coming up to the roundabout and thinking that this is the third time that we have tried it and i am not going to go home empty handed, then scrraattcchh.I got that feeling of being on such a high, then i see my bro in front get his down.

Just thought when you get home and you are soaked and freezing you could read this post and remember why we do it.

Best day this year was when I got it out on the road for the first time.

After a 5 year break, I got my 250 last September as a trackbike needing work. Over winter I done all the work I needed to to get it on the road, then when all the reg docs finally came through and I had my number plate issued, I could finally ride it.

Great feeling to be back on a bike, even if I am now a fair weather biker! Thumbs Up Wink

Back in summer leaving a 30ft 'darkie' in front of a friend around a bend on the A26 Very Happy and overtaking another mate on the outside around another bend on the same road. Very Happy

Both moves just felt perfect, well the darkie I did by accident but it felt good when she told me afterwards! Cool

Fantastic!

*A26 is very fast flowing set of 80+mph bends, if you've ridden it you would know.

ive had many days when its been great. Usually the best biking days for me are when i get up early and make an early start and spend the whole day riding from place to place. I love a trip into Yorkshire as the roads are great.

Doing a trackday at Mallory with a mate who constantly claims he is much quicker than me.
I was lapping him every session and riding round the outside of him on bends - end of debate!
Cool

On my Birthday where I spent 8 hours riding absoloutely nowhere around Kent and East Sussex.

I got lost, went round in circles, got absoloutley nowhere prodcutively, and I loved every second of it. Riding below the speed limit in most places as it was better to see places that way. Great fun! Thumbs Up

Know exactly how you fell. Returned to biking after a 20 year rest with my GSX-R600. Brilliant.

Got off the ferry in Kirkwall (Orkney) at 11.30pm. Rode down through the Churchill barriers on a clear, still midsummers night and stayed the night in a bunkhouse at St Margret's hope.

Up next morning, fried breakfast in town then caught the ferry to Gills bay. Rode the bikes across the North coast through Thurso and Tongue to Durness. Then took a flat out run down to Ullapool. Checked into the hostel in Ullapool, off to the pub, drinking fine Scottish Ales and a bucket of mussels for tea.

Cannot think of a better way to spend 24h biking. Thumbs Up

Its got to be getting my knee down for the first time and doing it on a proper corner and not a roundabout (which is cheating).

Passing my bike test.

After faffing around over winter on a 125, practicing U-turns all day and every day, I took a DAS course the following April.

I had a fantastic week, just riding bikes, then passing made it all worth while. I was shocked to hear the 'I'm pleased to tell you...' as I was certain I had failed after tagging onto traffic and pushing through a red light. The instructor was happy I had already committed myself to the menouver, so I was let off Smile Fair play to the instructor. I had a tear in my eye stood in the test centre car park when my instructor came over.

I remember riding the bikes back to the instructors base with another pupil who had passed, she kept looking round at me because I was riding along screaming in my helmet as loud as I could.

Great feeling, one I'll always remember.
