Rusting zorst

I got a fair amount of scraping on the exhaust when I had my little off a while ago, and I've only just noticed the in-your-face rust thats appearing from the scratched area.

I was wondering what I need to do to stop it getting worse, or to make it look a little better!

If it wasnt an exhaust I'd probably scrape the rust off, fill it, then cover it - but being on an object that heats up all the time it's used, I'm not quite sure what to do.

Any help would be fantabulous!

Clean off the rust then paint over the scraped area with heatproof paint.

Not necessarily the neatest, but effective.

Whats the best way to clean it off of a nice chromy zorst?

A wire brush is traditional but effective.

There are various 'rust killer' fluids on the market that you paint on and leave to sit for a while. Try an ironmongers/DIY shop.
