I have finally de-restricted the nsr, and oh what fun it is to ride on a 2 stroke one two five!!! LOL Well, I know it's not a proper bike but it's still better than a restricted nsr. It's nice to have a small little smidgen of power. Thanx for all the advice people!!!!

Leathers will be next week, hopefully, I have to wait for my SKy Digital to take money form my account then I will have some cash to spend!

Danke

its not fair, i cant get a nsr cos the insurance in this stupid country is too high Sad . if i was to get a nsr now (im 19 and have a 2 year NCB..well i will soon!) i would pay more on insurance than i would on a brand new nsr! as stupid as it sounds it is true Shocked

its just not fair Crying or Very sad

i might be able to get a nsr75 in 2 or 3 months hopefully so fingers crossed!!!

my bike is inferior to nothing. apart from perhaps the RVF.

bryn - isn't it cheaper out there to just do your test through a training place then buy an old 250 and insure it? my CB250 was group 5, against about group 8 for an NSR.

im actually looking into getting some training and doing my test through a training place at the mo.

the CB250 is in group five and the NSR is in group 7.

i decided to get a quote on a RS50 today, they are €3400 brand new but i told the woman on the phone i would be insuring a second hand one. i was quoted €3931 fully comp. or else €2750 for third party only. That is on a provisional licence but that is still absolutely crazy prices for a group 2 bike Mad

the RS50 is an exceptional bike. Last year the RS125 was the most crashed bike in the UK, and i dont know if 50cc bikes were included in the stats.

a lot of RS50s get crashed.

yeah i know what you mean. the NSR75 is in group two insurance with the RS50. But the NSR75 is hard to get second hand cos it hasnt been out that long, but there is a NSI80 (which is a NSR80 with a different name!) and that has been out for AGES so they are pretty easy to get second hand but they are in group three insurance. this country is so messed up Mad !

i actually read in the paper today that 2% of the vehicles on the road in ireland are motorbikes or mopeds where as in nearly all other EU countries the figure is 14%.

Thank you for those words of wisdom. Rolling Eyes

I'll just keep it restricted because I want to sell it soon and it's easier to sell with the restriction. Hopefully it will sell quickly in London with the new congestion charging.
