I'm thinking about it (if I wake up and its miserable weather I might leave it and go on sunday, see if its better ).

To those who've been already:

whats the bike parking like? is it secure enough for me to get away without bringing a chain?

very secure
when going in you are given a numbered ticket and give your initials and they make a note of your registration
you only get your bike out if you show your ticket.
i guess the initials are for if you lose your ticket

the only way your bike will be nicked is if someone pushes you off your bike b4 you get in or after you get out

Its so secure some people feel fine leaving their jackets strapped to their bikes. not me tho.

i recommend getting there as close to ten as pos and dont assume that the queue you are in for tickets or entry is the best one, as there are huge differences in queue size. usually the ones furthest from the car, bike parks are shortest

if you get in at 10, book a rideout on a new bike or a go on the offroad bikes. There is also the supermoto school. Unfortunately you cant easily get to do all 3 in one day as you just get given a time and cant pick or choose.

Supermoto is hardest to get as there arent many places, then offroad (more places than supermoto) , then rideout (loads of new bikes to choose from )

The offroad desk is next to the rideout desk. The big queue is for rideout so dont stand in the wrong one if you wan offroad.

If you start queing at 11 you will still get a rideout and maybe offroad. I got on supermoto by queueing 45mins b4 they started taking bookins at 1pm.

There are loads of rideout bikes but you might not get your first choice if you book late in the day.

As Collinwall says, you have a ticket and initals for the bike park - the guy told me that i wont get the bike out unless i have both the ticket and the initials - Dom_ left his jacket under the bike i think and it was still there when he got back.

the offroad bikes are the best fun, as the rideout is accompanied and is lead by a bsm guy so you wont be going faster than 60mph if that

still worth doing the rideout, but if you do it on a fast bike, it will be frustrating

i went twice too, and second time round i was on supermotos which were good but hard to get the back out which is what they get try to get you to do.

id suggest taking a rucksack or panniers for goodies you might want to bring home

I went in the end....

it was a pretty good day, up at 8.30am, straight on the M6 and down (140 miles).

I ended up buying some better gloves at the show cos my hands were so frikin cold on the way there

I was impressed with the triumph 675 and I love the new naked fazer, looks mint, although its funny how the paint scheme makes it look a bit like a bee, or a wasp, maybe a hornet?
