After catching people trying to steal my bike, Im now stuck with a knackered ignition and steering lock - The ignition has been pretty straightforward to replace, but I'm having problems sorting out the steering lock.

I have a workshop manual for models up to 2000, but my bike is a 54 reg, which I presume is a later model of bike, because the instructions for replacing the steering lock seem pretty straightforward in that, but in my bike the lock is encased within the steering column (there is no way of unscrewing it + removing it).

Does anyone know how to replace the steering lock on these models? I want to try and sort it myself, cos Im skint + dont want to pay for 'labour charges'

I think you're best off getting a haynes manual, i'm sure you can order them online.

You can order Haynes manuals online - however I think the latest model covered by the manual is up to 2000. I guess this is what PJB already has.
