octane boost for 2 strokes

Does ne1 know wheather u can get a octane boost 4 a 2 stroke engine or a fuel enhancer.

I have been looking for ages but cant find 1............can ne1 help.

What are you riding? If it's not a performance bike any octane booster or even buying premium fuel will just be a placebo.

what are you hoping to achieve with the boost in octane?
a higher octane fuel does not equal more power by itself.
and on 2 stroke engines i have no idea.
on a 4 stroke you would use a higher octane fuel so at higher compression you dont get pre ignition or with forced induction you can run more boost(same effect as high compression).
on an engine set up to run 95 ron fuel,putting 100 ron fuel in it will at best make no difference and will probably drop power.
now if you tune that same engine to run 100 ron fuel you will see an increase in power,however if you run it on 95ron it will blow up.

Running a 2stroke on premium fuel would make a difference, thats about it. But not that much of a performance boost i would say, its more for taking care of your engine. I suppose NOS is a kind of octane boost too

Hi

Same stuff for 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines.

Will give you no performance gain at all, and possibly a loss.

Sure you can tune the engine to take advantage of higher octane fuel but then using normal fuel will result in a hole burnt in the piston.

exactly what keith said, absolutely no point on a standard 2-stroke, higher octane fuel makes no difference, and in my view 2-stroke oil doesnt make a blind bit of difference either.

i dont buy the cheep crappy 2 stroke oil for my bike, i buy the expensive stuff Castrol TTS, you wont get any better performance from it but your engine will be a lot more healthy thatn it would be if you where using some cheep oil
