dont quote me but as far as i know,

those 3 points will stay on you licence, and get transfared onto your full licence for something like 3 years.

if you get another 3 points, i think you will lose your lisence as you will have gotten 6 points during your restriction.

someone who knows what they are on about will follow shortly. Very Happy

I'm no expert, but my guess is that you will lose your licence. However, I think your licence will be revoked, rather than you being given an out-right ban. This means you will have to start again as soon as you're allowed - CBT and all that.

Why not phone the driving school where you took your CBT and ask them ? They're sure to give you the right answer.

In the meantime, just behave yourself Wink

All the best Thumbs Up

The six point rule applies to the first two years of your first full licence. Get another three and pass your test within the next two years, and then the licence will be revoked. Any points you get now carry over and continue onto the first full licence you get.

You could get 12 points on a provisional licence before being banned.

I might have got clocked by a mobile one earlier today... He had a "you know you're getting a letter up your ass in a few days time" look to his face - even though I genuinely was trying to stick to the speed limit... I'll never live it down if I do get a ticket. Every man and his dog knows theres always one there.

Either way, you'll have to be really careful from now on. I'd be fine with paying the fine, but the 3 points would really grate my shizzle.

You are allowed 12 points on a provisional, but they are not lost when you get a full licence. They stay on for the usual duration (4 years IIRC.) You are then under the new licence rule of 6 points in the first two years. If you had already amassed more than 6 on provisional, it only takes one more point to lose the licence.

So nothing will happen if you get 6 points on provisional, except higher insurance premiums.

Don't suppose for one minute you took it off to stop others realising you're a learner Shocked

Why, oh why, oh why would anyone want to nick your 'L' plate ?

And why didn't you notice it was missing ?

Confused Confused Confused

Yep, here come's the 'reasons', no doubt Thumbs Up

No, I very much doubt it. Because Plod would ask for the details of the rider at that time Shocked

Also, where were you caught? A few miles from home? What buyer would take a bike for a test ride so far from where the owner (you) lives?

Not a good idea unless you've got a mate who's prepared to take the rap for you Thumbs Down

60quid and 3 points for having a broken rear L plate board which meant i was not displaying a legitimate l plate, therefore not riding with accordance to my licence, 2 days before i turn 17 and take my A2 bike test, the garage door blew shut on the back of my bike only a few hours before, now thats unlucky!

this is lucky, had a missing L-plate on the back, pulled me over, 60 fine and three points, got a letter in the post stating that the officer had put the wrong date on the ticket, he put 2003 instead of 2004.

copper asked me if i payed the fine off when he pulled me over again, and i told him with a HUGE grin on my face, should of seen his face, it was comical.

Thumbs Up Steve.

Too many people just accept the speeding fine and resign themselves to the penalty at the notice of intended prosecution.

I know many, who have sent for copies of all documentation, some have had their prosecution withdrawn because of serious administration errors.

If you are going to accept it then why not check everything first.
