The other day I had my headlight go on me. I checked out the connections cause it'd been on the blink, and they were all okay. I traced all the wires back to the battery, and the cables looked fine. Short of a new bulb, I did everything I could.

I slapped a new bulb in a few days ago, jobs a kipper.

I think it was 2 nights ago now that my tail light went. Some bloke shouted "tail light is out youth, you wanna watch that" at me at the lights and I just shrugged it off... Looked behind me and it seemed like it was on - headlights were behind me though so I wasnt sure sure. Found a suitable place to pull over, tail light was out. Bulb had blown. Replaced bulb, jobs a kipper.

Now my bloody speedo light is on the blink - and at this time of year when I'll be commuting in the dark... thats not good. Theres a daft amount of cameras on the way home - most of them mobile ones.

I dont know if this is just bad luck, or a problem. Could it be the rain is getting in somewhere and messing things up? What other problems could there be? The fuse seems alright.

There should be a rubber bit on the back to stop water getting to the light - but its missing. Could this be causing an issue at all? I've taped it up for now just in case.

Any thoughts?

It would be quite helpful to know what kind of bike it is and how old...

...and would that be a humping, big, manly marauder (with a proper charging system) or a ickle marauder (with a string and paper-clip based charging system)?

Come on, you can tell us...

You could put it in your sig or profile, then you wouldn't have to remember Wink

I have had cascade bulb failures before. On my GPZ500s it was due to very accurate built-in obsalecence, they just all wore out at the same time.

On my old moped, the voltage regulator was shot and putting out too much voltage which was popping the bulbs.

Ideally you would check the voltage across the battery. If it is 15 volts or more, you have a problem.
