Morning peeps, here's todays question...

Mr Haynes recommends that the tyre pressure on my GS500 is 33psi front and 36psi rear - or 41psi rear if carrying a pillion.

Does this literally mean if you are carrying a pillion - due to the position of weight - or could it also be interpreted as a polite way of saying "if you're a fat-ass" and riding alone.

Not that I'm a fat-ass you understand Embarassed

Unless you weigh the same as two people, or carry a passenger all the time, I'd stick with the solo settings.

You generally increase the rear tyre presure for two-up work or 'sustained' high speed as these both put more load on the rear tyre. If you sometimes give someone a lift for a few miles I wouldn't bother - if you're going touring two-up for the day stick a bit more in.

I reckon 1 or 2 psi may help. Recently a 28 stone mate tried my nc30 for size - the rear tyre looked like it was flat!
