Help! do you know this place?

I remember going to a place about 8 years ago on a sunday when at college. It was near Chesterfield (I think) and was a town in a valley with cable cars. It was also full of bikers. Does anyone recognise the place?

Just remembered, there was only one road through the place and the valley was very narrow with the houses shops etc along this one road. Also there was some kind of attraction/grotto type thing on the cliffs or on top of the cliffs that you got to via a path or the cable cars.
