Had a great day, rode from Halifax to Skipton, From Skipton towards Kendal, stopped off for a drink at the Devils bridge, then on the M6, M60, M62 & back.

Beautifuly clear day, lots of bikers out.

Was a great ride but bloody cold. Cool Fingers numb, had to stop for coffee on 2 occasions just to keep warm.

But all I could think is this it for the year. ie with the ice looming, salting etc.

Sort of sad, but for nearly the first time since the end of Feb, I am thinking of going in the car tomorrow. Crying or Very sad

Wimps! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Mr. Green

It aint even started gettin cold yet, wait until the whole day stays below zero Wink . Keep your fingers warm on the engine when you stop. Having a cup of coffee won't help as five mins later you will need a pee. keep you core warm with lots of thin layers not a big wooly jumper and T shirt.

Winter is great for riding, it sorts the men out from the boys. Twisted Evil

I went straight out for a blast on Saturday morning at 9AM. It was a wee but nippy on the fingers after a while but not as bad as I thought it would be when I walked out the door and felt how chilly it was.
It was really my first experience of 'cold' weather(on a bike).
It was fine and good fun despite wet patches and a numb jaw.

UNTIL, coming back into my driveway I decided to show off/piss about by giving it some revs and blasting up the drive way(my brother was watching) - I hit a patch of moss and it felt like the back end had come out at 45degrees!! (probably about 2inches)Shocked after shitting myself, I just had enough room to get it back together and stop.

I'm sure at the worst point of it I was heading straight through the front door and into the toilet!! Embarassed

Had a quick spin around the block today, probably be the last casual ride for a little while. I was loving dry roads, first time I've tried it on the NSR Smile

Will be dragging the little scoot out again shortly after I've fixed the forks, and putting the NSR into hibernation til march or thereabouts.

Is a bit annoying now everyone else has cars, and I'm back on my moped. Meh, I'll be laughing come next summer Razz
