my uncle's offering to give me his bros (dark green and gold) with an illegal exhaust or sv650 - which is done up in valerossi colours and likes to pretend its a ducati!!

both would need to be restricted. no idea what either of these are like - maybe someone could help??

i like to go fast-ish (110-120) and have to commute 30miles to work (and back!!) 5days so need it to be reliable

I would go for the SV, purely based on looks. Both are fairly reliable, sensible bikes, as far as I know? Both suitable commuters.

Both are reliable, sv will be more fun is not a SMIDGEN thirstier (I got 150 miles minimum to £12 of petrol on the sv650s I had)

Think the bros 400 is 33bhp so wouldn't need to be restricted, restriciton kits for the sv can be picked up from www.sv650.org, www.ebay.co.uk or other places. Can get them for less than £50 usually.

Can get an 'illegal' exhaust for the sv for not much and they'll probably sound 'better'.

You'll get bored of a Bros 400 in no time as well. SV650 it will happen if you like hard acceleration, but not for a while. Razz

SV - and put a Remus can on it, sounds bloody awesome

Should be able to get 150 miles before hitting reserve, I have had up to 175 when using mostly fast A-roads. Very comfy, good two up all-rounder. Absolutely no problems with it what-so ever (admittedly only 8500 miles)
