ZX6R F1 Spark Plug Removal

I'm having a bit of trouble removing 2 of the four plugs. I have the Haines manual which is a great help, but it looks like there are some stones next to the spark plug which is hindering me removing them. The only way I can think of is to remove the stones. I rigged up some hose pipe to the end of the hoover, but still no luck. I tried a wire coat hanger as well, no joy!!

Anyone else got any other ideas??

You can buy various hook implements like these from Machine Mart the second lot are a bit stronger and might work

...or perhaps long nosed pliers might do it?? You're doing the right thing, you've got to get them out before the plug comes off, if they drop inside it could be very expensive Shocked

Give it another go with the vacuum cleaner when you've got them out just to make sure there are no small pieces of grit left in there before you remove the plug.

If you create a smaller diameter tube from the end of the hoover, you'll get better suction.

Alternatively, some car places sell a flexible grabber for a couple of quid. It's like a flexi metal spring with a plunger at one end and four little prongs at the other end.

Screwdriver with a blob of grease on the end will do it.

Hi, if the stones are too big to stick to the grease or this doesn't work then get a straw suck thru it and pull the stones out that way worked for me on a zzr600 Thumbs Up
