I've got a marauder 125, X-reg, and it has a bit of an oil leak.

It's been there since I brought the bike. It never seemed that bad and I've always been under the assumption [correct me if I'm wrong here] that it's not uncommon for air-cooled engines to leak a bit of oil when they're a bit warm.

So after washing the bike last week I decided I'll monitor how much its leaking. I've done about 170 miles or so and theres definately a fair amount of oil on the left hand side for a weeks use. The oil is coming from the bottom of the engine on the left hand side, and seems to be seeping out a bit in another place too.

Any idea how easy this would be to fix myself, or how much it'd cost to get done? Is it even worth me bothering?

Cheers for any help guys, tis mucho appreciated Smile

Bottom of engine? Left hand side? First thing to do is check that it's not just goo dripping off your chain. Is the bike actually loosing oil if you check the dipstick??

Second thing to do is clean all the oil off so you can actually see where it's coming from - leaky oil has a tedncy to walk a long way. Then you need a manual to tell you if the leaky seal is an easy job or a dismantle engine job.

Already cleaned the oil off, hence washing the bike last week. I'd get pictures if it wasnt for me being a retard without a camera.

Unless the goo from the chain happens to be a wet oil-imititing goo, then I'm assuming it's oil Wink

I'll try and sort some pictures out in the next couple of days.
