I just bought the Tailpack from Hein Gericke for 79.99

Seems pretty good too me, apart from there's a few things that piss me off already:

Arrow The bungees that secure the top that they say YOU MUST FIT don't fit my bike
Arrow Luggage capacity is alright... I spose...
Arrow The detachable bumbag pocket fights you for your seat
Arrow THE GODDAM SEATBELT STRAP - Thought this pack would be detachable from the bike... but it's BLOODY NOT Sad It's permanently fixed to the bike with a velcro strap, this is a MASSIVE minus for me.

Anyone else got one? I'm thinking of taking mine back Sad

it is detachable...unless the design has changed,i got one earlier this year and it unzips from the base and turns into a rucksack Wink

i have one...it does unzip...but still is annoying as the base is attached to the bike and if you bungee it down like you should it can be a bit awkward....

I've got their tankbag which is expandable and works fine. Whilst not technically designed as a tailpack I'm sure I could just bungee it to the back if I wanted to. The tankbag also has the unzippable rucksack feature. Not sure how the two compare in terms of capacity though.

I have the cheaper version, the 1st time tailpack. I don't bother with the velcro strap I just use the 2 bungess underneath the tailpack and it does the job. I have been on long journey's with high winds and it does not budge an inch! Haven't even needed the extra 4 bungees for the top hooks.

And "OMG", no wonder you're finding things tough when you blow £70 on things like that! Laughing Wink

Holy feck! £80!!


Get a decent rucksac (eurohike 60 is brilliant, has a rain cover, it will carry WAY more than a tail pack, 2 helmets easy... and you just put it on when you get off the bike) (£30)
And a cargo net (£5) (if your paranoid use two nets at a time)

I used this for several hundred miles at a time and it worked perfectly well..


For the love of gawd take it back!
