Hey all, thought i'd throw this out there, found a website called Ebikeinsurance.co.uk
looking to insure an XR125L AND Fireblade 900 (1997- 918cc)
they have quoted me 86.87 a month in the pay and go scheme.
seems a little too good to be true.
is this a great deal for a 24 year old rider who passed on halloween this year. or are there hidden pit falls let me know folks i'd appriciate it.

It's not too shabby, whats that, £1100 in total? Passing your test 3 weeks ago will have done you no favours, no ncb, first big bike, £1100 is okay. PAYG is more expensive than normal cover too.

its quite a bit cheaper if you dont use pay as you go.

ebike give good prices but if you ring motorcycle direct and pretend your ebike quote was lower than it actually was, you will insured for even cheaper money

i was quoted a good price by these too

riders choice were the next cheapest, he refused to quote against e-bike as they are not an english company, they are based in gibralta and are very new, hence the cheap quotes.

i decided against going with e-bike as it worrys me, should i have to make a claim or they go bust , it could all go wrong.

try riders choice if you haven't already, they were only a bit more than e-bike and much more helpful

i dont think there is anything wrong with ebike, loads of people use them
other insurers will tell you any old guff to stop you going for a company that quotes lower and motorcylces direct will undercut them anyway

I'm through Ebike & I'm paying £93 per month PAYG (TPF&T). I only just passed on 4th October this year & I'm riding a K4 GSXR600. I have found that even though it is pay as you go, it is still quite a competitive quote, and if I were to pay for a full year, there wouldn't be that much difference.

I have my Aprilia RS125 through them as well for which I was paying £30 a month (TPO), and I also have 2 insurance claims going through with them (1 for my RS & 1 for my Gixxer, both not my fault!), and they seem to be pretty efficient so far. Thumbs Up

the guy i talked to is well respected at riders choice and he explained everything to me and was not telling me any old thing to sell me his insurance.

he said to me by all means go with e-bike but he couldn't beat their quote

thats not what i mean.

i asked myself the same question about e-bike as titled on this thread two weeks ago when i renewed my insurance.

by all means go with them, was just giving my input about them and why i haven't gone with them.

basically, you got to ask yourself is the cheapest quote always the best??? i'm on a silly tight budget for my bike but this time i decided to pay £50 more for a better more personal service that gave me peace of mind.

eBike were about £400 cheaper than any other quote and I couldn't fault them when I had to claim back in July.

Recommended Thumbs Up.

What's this PAYG service then? Pay month by month without a fixed term or something?

i know people are reasured by paying a bit more for things but you are just paying for someone to reassure you.

I have done telephone sales and that is 99% of the job reassuring ppl that its ok to part with their money.

People who dont need reassurance get stuff that is just as good but they dont both paying for reassurance.

I went with ebike because their quote was close to all the others, and they offer free breakdown with the cover, which the others that quoted comparably didn't. If you see what I mean?

FWIW I used the breakdown, and it was fine, and they didn't charge me for it.

I read these insurance quotes and I shudder at the price. I'm with eBike and I got my ZX6R and GPZ500S insured TPF&T and I pay 260 quid a year. Only passed my bike test in May, must be due to me being an old git Mr. Green

Try dwlaxton. They quoted me £400 fully comprehensive Very Happy for a kawak ZR7-S 5 days after i passed DAS. I am 29 and have 3 points on my licence. The bike is not garaged (merseyside), unlimited mileage, breakdown and legal cover included and carrying pillions permitted Cool .
Okay, the ZR7-S is not the most expensive bike in the world, but it is still a big bike and my profile is not exactly insurance friendly. Wink
