Anyone have experience fitting dynojet kits? I started fitting one to a '88 GSXF today but when you move the slides by hand on the modified carbs the slide will not move all the way up into the body, its sits about 3mm lower than the stock carb theoretically restricting the air flow. The springs are about 10mm longer than stock. Checked the kit and its all as specified by dynojet.

Is this how it should be? If I fit the stock spring the slides moves all the way into the body.

WHat difference is the spring supposed to make anyway, better response?

Hi

Presume CV carbs on that.

The spring (along with the hole in the slide) will affect how quickly the slide moves when you accelerate.

Check the springs are seated correctly and not foulding the slide. I would be surprised if the spring stopped the slide by becoming coil bound. And make sure you do not loose the rubber O ring at the edge of the top of the carb.

Also check you have the right kit. Might be you have been supplied one for a different year / market bike with different carbs (not a clue if Suzuki changed the carbs on the teapot for different markets, but they did on the GSXR1100 for example, with US market ones getting 36mm carbs and European ones 40mm carbs).

All the best

Keith

Got it sorted, the slide needs to be pushed up to extend the diaphram while the top is fixed down.

cheers anyway.
